30 Days of Thanksgiving

I meant to start doing this but so far all I have done is read other people’s. Starting on 7th seemed like a good belated start.

I will be updating this post, and bumping it to the top daily! Look below for the newest blog postings.

A Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving

  1. I am thankful for the blessing of being able to be at home with Baby Ram-a-razzi. The days can get boring and often stressful but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
  2. I am thankful for my wonderful husband, Mr. Ram-a-razzi. He may drive me bonkers from time to time, but I wouldn’t want him any other way.
  3. I am thankful that November 3rd was an AWESOME birthday spent with family, friends and wonderful food.
  4. I am thankful for my family. We put the FUN in dysfunctional 🙂 We are all a little crazy but that is what makes us mesh so well.
  5. I am thankful for Baby Ram-a-razzi in general. I have so many friends that have struggled with having a child and their journeys have helped me to realize what a blessing a healthy, happy child is.
  6. I am thankful that I live in a country that allows me to vote. I may not always agree with who is elected but I did my part to contribute to what I thought was best for everyone by casting my vote today.
  7. I am thankful for my wonderful group of close friends. The older I get the harder it is to keep up tons of friendships. We have jobs, families and so many other responsibilities to attend to. Thank you for CJ, C and Mo.
  8. I am thankful for how readily accessible food is. I was at Kroger last night and was able to get a week’s worth of food in less than an hour. Many people don’t have that luxury.
  9. I am thankful for the medically advanced society that I live in. I hate to think about what life would be like if I lived in a third world society or earlier in history and had surgery without modern anesthesia, suffered infections without antibiotics or faced the possibility of death from the effects of “eating bad Chinese.”
  10. I am thankful for stores that sell pants in “short” length. I know…total fluff but it is a big deal to me. I have hemmed many pairs of pants that I loved but were entirely too long.
  11. I am thankful today and every day for all of the men and women who serve and have served our country as members of our military. They keep us safe and free. THANK YOU!
  12. I am thankful for the convenience of having a washer and dryer. I can imagine having to wash everything by hand and hanging it out to dry. And I think folding and putting away is awful!
  13. I am thankful for the automobile today. I have a few errands to run and can’t imagine not being able to jump in the car and get them done. It would be awful to have to “go to town” on a horse or in a wagon once a week or once a month.
  14. So far my day has been stressful and I almost forgot to be thankful. Today I especially thankful for my “emergency” frozen lasagna in the freezer for my lunch. It is 2pm and I am the only one who has not been fed, bathed or entertained.
  15. I am thankful for Netflix streaming! Educational programming for Baby Ram-a-razzi and a little time to accomplish the mundane like laundry, cooking and plopping my buns on the couch for 5 minutes.
  16. I am thankful today for warm clothes & coats. Many people don’t have warm clothes or coats in this chilly weather. Please consider donating some to people in need if you have the means!
  17. Today I am thankful for Clorox wipes! We had out first big kid “puke-tastrophy.” Baby Ram-a-razzi found a sippy cup he had somehow hidden behind his bed full of spoiled milk…and drank it. EWWWW!
  18. I am so thankful for a Mom and MIL who practically fight to keep the little man for us when we need them. We don’t take advantage of it like many would but we are blessed to be able to see the occasional movie.
  19. Today I am horribly sick! I won’t go into details but I got about 3 hours of sleep last night. I am thankful for a child who is “Mommy’s Clone” not only in looks but we have this special wavelength to communicate important stuff. He knows I am sick and was playing happily in his bed so that I could get some rest and sleep an extra hour.
  20. Today I am thankful for cranberries! I made my usual cranberry sauce that contains 5 lbs of cranberries. I have a list of people who want it so I make it in mass quantities.
  21. I am thankful for cozy pajamas today. We are decorating and prepping for Thanksgiving and nothing feel better than jammies!
  22. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I am thankful for the disgusting amounts of food that we will be having today. So many people go without and we have more than enough. I’m glad I “shared” by donating to the food bank the last time I was at Kroger.
  23. I am thankful that I got really awesome deals today using coupon code online and going to Target & Meijer at 6pm. I wasn’t in the market for a $99 TV, $200 laptop or Super Mega-tron Gotta-have Man action figures so it all worked out.
  24. Today I am thankful to be inside enjoying my time with Baby Ram-a-razzi while Clark W. Griswold, I mean my husband, completes the exterior illuminations.
  25. Today I am thankful for Mail Merge, the cheater’s way to address Christmas cards, birthday invites, etc.
  26. Today I am thankful to own a dishwasher with a food processor in the bottom. No more scooping icky food from the drain!
  27. I am thankful for Pack & Plays. It seems like some days all Baby Ram-a-razzi wants to do is the things that he is not allowed to do like chew on DVD’s, push TV buttons, dump out all his toys, steal the remotes (he has his own). It is nice to pop him into the Pack & Play where he is safe and go upstairs for a minute or two and just BREATHE!
  28. Today I am thankful that my blog made someone else happy. I corrected a typo in a posting from weeks ago and WordPress re-shared the post on Facebook and she commented. I’m thrilled that it made someone happy.
